Happy Palm Sunday!!!

Happy Palm Sunday!!

We were asked at church this morning how many people we called to wish a Happy Palm Sunday to. Some people snickered while others like me were wandering where this was going. Pastor Dan went on to say that he called his Mom, daughter and Son to wish them a Happy Palm Sunday. Now, he said his Mom wished him one too but his kids were like ok Dad whatever...

I had never thought to wish anyone a Happy Palm Sunday, but why not??? Isn't this the day that is a very important one as a Christian? Just to be clear for everyone, I looked up the definition for Palm Sunday, it is a moveable feast which always falls on the Sunday before Easter. It was a common custom in many lands in the ancient Near East to cover, in some way, the path of someone thought worthy of the highest honour.

We today know the story and what happened. But imagine the disciples when they entered he city with Jesus then he told them what was about to happen. What would our reaction be? Would we see the significance in it? How would we handle it?

Today is the start of Holy week. It isn't too late to put aside ourselves daily and take up our cross and follow Jesus. Sounds easy right?? It isn't, most of us know this by now. We want to "fit in", we want everyone to "like" us. I am tired of trying to conform to this world. Who else will step out in faith with me and follow Jesus??

Take time this week to think about Holy Week leading up to Easter.

Have a blessed Holy week!!
