Press On

I've been asked to work another Emmaus walk this spring. The theme is Press On &
the song is from Selah with the same title Press On.

This song was used on Cole's Chrysalis, as well as another walk I worked. It has
resonated with me. I've been "challenged" to blog about it & soon I will have a
guest blog!!

This is what I wrote to a dear friend today before she gave me "the
challenge"...

I believe there are so many women that deal with "fear" issues & they live
defeated. This theme will touch SO many people team & pilgrims alike. "In Jesus
name, we press on". In Jesus name not my name not your name, in Jesus name.
Amen!!

Life deals us great joys as well as great trials BUT how do we respond to the
ups & downs?

I've often heard that we grow the most in the valleys of life. Not on the
mountaintop. But, who wants to go through the valleys?!?! Not me!

However, we do have to go through those dark times. If you are anything like me
when those times hit it's SO easy to give up & live defeated. But we don't have
to! Did you hear that?!?! We DON'T HAVE TO! In Jesus name we press on! Press on
toward Him & all his riches. He wants to lavish His love on us but why do we
hold back?

Fear

Such an ugly word that controlled my life for SO SO long due to things in my
past that were beyond my control but that I was dealt with. I let the ole scum
dog use it against me UNTIL one day I realized I didn't have to live like that.
Now, let me say that once I realized that my life wasn't all of the sudden all
hearts & flowers. Life is tough, let's face it, it is BUT we MUST press on
toward the ultimate goal.

Jesus is worth it people, he redeemed us long ago. It's our turn to live life
abundantly through Him!!

Read these words to this song & ponder on them.

Press On by Selah

When the valley is deep
When the mountain is steep
When the body is weary
When we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard
When we're battered and scarred
When we've spent our resources
When we've given our all

In Jesus' name, we press on
In Jesus' name, we press on
Dear Lord, with the prize clear before our eyes
We find the strength to press on

In Jesus' name, we press on
In Jesus' name, we press on
Dear Lord, with the prize clear before our eyes
We find the strength to press on
We find the strength to press on, to press on
