On or off the bus

Have you seen the Indiana Atheist Bus Campaign signs? Well, as I was reading the paper this morning there was a picture. It was a pretty picture BUT it says "You can be good without God". Now at least the Bloomington Public Transportation Corp. refused to let them put them on their buses. I have a feeling it may happen anyway as they have sued & the Mayor is distancing himself from it by saying he disagrees with the BT policy & he's asked the city's government legal department not to represent BT in court.

WOW!

The thing that bothers me is yes while you CAN be good without God that's not the point. God doesn't want us to JUST be "good". He wants a RELATIONSHIP with us so that in turn we will be more Christ like.

You can read more about this group on the Herald Times Online or go to inatheistbus.org

It's time we as Christians stand up for what we believe in!

Just sent an e-mail to South Bend and Bloomington Gov. Probably won't do any good but at least I took a stand.

Unfortunately, this is a sign of things to come. I think we are going to see more and more blatant rejection of God and His Son.

Personally, I think the statement is an outright lie. How can you be good without God if you are BORN into sin? Who is going to teach you? Other sinners! Only by having the Word poured into us and our children can we learn what God desires from us and how we are to behave on His behalf.

Maybe the mayor is distancing himself so that his own "religious" views don't come under scrutiny. This position seems to be the norm for most politicians these days.
