Hanging of the Greens
Last night we attended the hanging of the Greens ceremony at church. It was a good way to usher in the holiday season. We listened to many ways in which Christmas in celebrated around the world as well as sang Christmas songs, heard the bell choir, listened to the youth group sing and decorated the church for the upcoming first Advent Sunday. Mom & Dad came down and we really had a good time. It was a beautiful service.
We can get so wrapped up in the holidays with all their is to do that often times we forget just how many people are hurting. There are those that this will be their first holiday season without a loved one. Those dealing with family crises, financial strain, diseases etc... There is a multitude of things that can really cause the holidays to be sad for many people.
While we are enjoying our holidays let's stop and think about those that aren't as privileged as we are.
