Blessed

Can you even believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner? Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, right after Easter. I'm not sure why I like it so well though because I hate cold, not fond of Turkey or Football....

I do remember as a kid though, waking up to the smell of Thanksgiving dinner cooking and watching the Macy's Day Parade every year. It's the little, simple things that made things special in our house. It didn't have to be fancy or elaborate as long as it was family. We still look at it that way.

We all have so many things to be thankful for. Even in today's world where nothing is guaranteed. I am so thankful that I live in a free country where I have the freedom to worship openly without thought of persecution. That is something that I feel many, including myself, take for granted. The church is still being heavily persecuted in many places around the world, and it is just as prevalent today as in years past.

Let's not forget today to be thankful to be able to open our Bible anywhere and read it. There have been a lot or rights taken away for Christians but we are still much more blessed than most places. This is something that we all need to be praying for especially for the next generation to stand firm in their faith.
