Patrick Henry Hughes @ ESPN Awards Ceremony part 1

Whew! We had a very long weekend, not getting home before midnight every night then having to get up at 4 to head back to Indy. (Ed thought it best for us not to stay in Indy this weekend since we would be gone all week, we aren't as young as we once were!) There were several rain delays so we had a lot of free time. We actually got to go to the Imax theatre and see Journey to the center of the earth in 3D. It was cool.

We got home around 6 on Sunday and I did some housework and settled in for my Sunday night tradition. I always watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Tonight was a story of a young man named Patrick Henry Hughes from Louisville, Kentucky. He was born without eyes, and without being able to extend his limbs fully. He had glass eye implants at a young age. This young man is exceptional. He plays the piano and trumpet and with the help from his Dad he is in the Louisville Cardinal Marching Band. His Dad pushes his wheelchair around on the field. At one point he made the statement that his blindness was not a disability to him but and ability, because so many people judge with their eyes and all he has to go by is what is on the inside of people. He also said God made me blind...so what! It was very inspiring. As always I sat on the coach during this show and cried like a baby, it was a good cry though, a touch your heart kind.

I won't be blogging much if at all this week. We leave tomorrow for Alabama for Aimee's softball nationals. We are very tired already but looking forward to go.

Have a great blessed week!
