Sermons

Heard a pretty good message today on Dr. David Jeremiah's Turning Point. You should really listen to him on 88.7 at 7:00 a.m. daily.

Anyway, he said your attitude going into church sets your mood for getting anything out of it! That was good, and it is true. That is why the old scum dog tries to trip us up on Sunday mornings to keep us out of church or to just put us in the mood to just go through the motions.

Here's how to hear a sermon according to Dr. David Jeremiah:

(1) Pray for your pastor's message and prepare your heart to hear it;

(2) If you know the text in advance, read it;

(3) Sit near the front;

(4) Bring your Bible, and follow along with the Scriptures;

(5) Make notes of the outline, main points, quotes, and illustrations;

(6) Take away at least one truth to apply in a practical way to your life; and

(7) Try to share something from the message with another person as soon as possible

Ah, man... As Tami will tell you I hate sitting near the front HOWEVER, we have at church been sitting in the third pew because with my ADHD it is really easy for me to get distracted.

These are good practical things we can all do to help us out in church.

This is the second time I've read this today. Is that a hint. I must take note. Thanks, Christy!

PS - I think of Christ every time I type or say your name. How cool is that?!
