Sunday

Today was such a nice day! We went to church this morning, had a brunch then services. The sermon series has been about missions.... It has been good except Ed nudging me to get up and speak today!

We came home and I took a nap, I don't usually take naps but these allergies are killing me! Aimee just got home from work and said "Are you ok" I said yea why and she said looks like you've been crying... nope just stinking allergies!

We went to Chris and Tami's around 5 so I could help her with her computer... I tried to get a peek at the worker list for her upcoming walk but she out smarted me! =) She made dinner for us and boy was it good! Complete with strawberry pie and all. After that we went outside and sat for a but then took a boat ride. It was such a good time. I snapped a few pics on my phone to share!!

This week is pretty slow until the weekend! Cole has a basketball tournament at Springs Valley and Aimee has a tournament in Terre Haute so we will be going seperate ways.

Today was a great graduation! A little depressing as I got to thinking about next year but it was a very nice ceremony!

I'm slowly coming back to the land of the living or the land of the thinking that is. I'm amazed at the fog my allergies can put me in. I still don't feel 100% but it's something I deal with each year so I will manage.

What I have noticed is that I did not read my Bible yesterday & let me tell you by last night I had so many thoughts & doubts that were not of God. The ole scum dog slips in when we least expect it through such subtle ways. Even the moment we take our eyes off God he pounces on us. I was back to my disciple study today & the scripture was in Mark. It was just what I needed!

I believe we need to be in the word even more today than ever. What would happen if we would have our Bibles taken from us? Would you know enough scripture to sustain you? I dare say there are very few that could say yes to this. The more you get in the word the more you yearn to read it & get into it. I find it helps to pray before you start reading for God to open your mind to what it is saying to you.

Today is the first official day of summer. Aimee is now a senior & Cole a freshman. Where does the time go? While I enjoy every day with my kids it is sad to think before too long they will be out of our home. Have we done enough for them to be strong Christians outside of our house? Have we given them enough responsibility for them to handle it outside our home? These are the questions that often go through my mind. However, I have the hope of Jesus that he will complete the work he began in them!!

Enjoy this day!! It is the day the Lord has made =)

Lost

I just cannot function. I can't remember a time when my allergies have been so bad. Yesterday my eyes were swollen, red, burned & itched. When things bloom my allergies act up in mainly my eyes. Convienent since I cannot do eye drops very well. I have extremely sensitive eyes.

I slept 4 hours yesterday afternoon & that didn't help much. Woke up today with the same problems plus sneezing & a headache. I have been trying to use allergy visine, it's not working too well though. I have noticed the past 6 months or so my allergies changing some. I am allergic to some foods, the main ones tree nuts (almonds, pecans etc...) Cole also has had allergies to peanuts & soy.

I made us an appointment on June 18 to be retested & it cannot come too soon! I don't know if you have allergies but if you do then you understand my frustration. My last doctor told me I should live in a bubble.... I think I'm ready for it now =)

Cole leaves this Friday for his first week gone with his dad for the summer. I HATE it when he is gone. Between that & his mission trip we won't see him much the month of June.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great week!!
