Wednesday Words

As morning dawns and evening fades
You inspire songs of praise
That rise from earth to touch Your heart and glorify Your Name

CHORUS
Your Name is a strong and mighty tower
Your Name is a shelter like no other
Your Name, let the nations sing it louder
'Cause nothing has the power to save
But Your Name

Jesus, in Your Name we pray
Come and fill our hearts today
Lord, give us strength to live for You and glorify Your Name

CHORUS
Your Name is a strong and mighty tower
Your Name is a shelter like no other
Your Name, let the nations sing it louder
'Cause nothing has the power to save but Your Name

CHORUS
Your Name is a strong and mighty tower
Your Name is a shelter like no other
Your Name, let the nations sing it louder

'Cause nothing has the power to save but

'Cause nothing has the power to save but Your Name

Toe Stepping

Tuesday Tunes will have to wait to be Wednesday's Words because I have a confession to make! I was having a really crappy day at work this morning and was quite angry. I was listening to 88.7 when Focus on the Family came on. I generally listen to it daily. The last 2 days has been about Protecting Teen Girls From Lies. It has featured Nancy Leigh DeMoss and Dannah Gresh.

We were cruising right through the broadcast when low and behold... Ouch!! I got my toes smashed! One of the presenters was talking about how in their home they do not tolerate disrespect. I nodded and thought check. She went on to say however when you have teenagers you WILL have disrespect. Yep... check.

Then out of no where she said for 7 years I was to blame for the way my kids treated my husband. Uh.... She went on to say that the respect or disrespect we show out husbands will be mirrored by our children. Whoa! Talk about a punch in the gut.

The kids are usually pretty good BUT they sometimes do and say things to Ed that they wouldn't dare do or say to me. We have noticed it but I just thought they were just more scared of me than him. Not until I heard this did it ever occur to me that I could be the blame for this. There are times when I am not submissive to Ed and can be disrespectful.

I owe Ed an apology for the way I have treated him for the last 10 years. I sent him a quick text message and will talk to him more when he gets a break. Apologizing for a long time of behavior can be hard but I know my lil Ed still loves me. It will be hard to change but I will make an effort to do so.

If you get a chance go to Focus on the Family website and listen to the broadcast!

This was the Upper Room Devotional for today.

Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it."

-Luke 18:17 (NRSV)

EXTREMELY heavy wind had blown all the autumn leaves off the trees. With the withering leaves hurled into heaps around the garden, the whole area looked neglected and a mess.

The schedule for my busy day was bulging, but I knew I would have to spend precious time clearing up leaves. Matters were not helped when my three-year-old daughter, Lucy, came out and wanted to help me. With little grace, I found her a small broom before rushing back to my own task. After only a few minutes, I turned around to find Lucy slowly picking up leaf after leaf and examining each one closely. As I opened my mouth to complain to her, she spoke first: "Look, Mummy. Pretty!" She handed me a perfect specimen of a golden leaf. Then she rushed around picking up leaf after leaf - yellow, red, purple, pink, and golden brown - exclaiming over each one's beauty and tracing its irregular shape with her tiny finger.

I stood still - and ashamed. I had seen in the leaves only another task in an already over-full day, but my daughter had seen beauty created by God. Lucy had opened my eyes to our loving God's work.

Isn't it amazing when we look at things through the eyes of a child how exciting it can be? I wish I was more like this when it came to studying the Bible. Sometimes I make it seem like a chore which defeats the purpose totally. I will try to do better!

Dark at 6:30

I tell you, my body keeps telling me it's time for bed. I looked at the clock and it was only 6:30. It seems like it is much later than that!!

Ed & Cole were all pumped up today. It is the first day of coon season. They left around 6:00 and won't return until well after midnight! Cole loves to coon hunt which surprised me when he first started going but I am glad because it is something he & Ed can do together without the girls around =)

Aimee is at work and freezing! She keeps texting me letting me know how cold it is. So, here I sit believe it or not...BORED! Annette & I went to Odon to the craft show today. We didn't buy much at all but we had a good time. She is one of my bestest and I enjoy her company very much!

This upcoming week kicks off basketball games. We have 4 this week. I still cannot believe it is November already!!

So, I will watch my usual Cops & America's Most Wanted then off to bed!
